The Festival is honoured to present the German Fauré Quartett in its Irish début. Founded in 1995, the Quartet is recognised as one the finest chamber music ensembles of its generation, playing regularly on such important stages as London’s Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam and Berlin’s Philharmonie. These dynamic musicians are also regular guests at Martha Argerich’s Festival Buenos Aires and the Kuhmo, Schleswig-Holstein and Rheingau Festivals.
Exclusive Deutsche Grammophon artists, the Quartet’s discography includes recordings by Mozart, Brahms and Mendelssohn, and most recently an album entitled “Pop” featuring piano quartet arrangements of music by Steely Dan, the Pet Shops Boys and Ireland’s The Divine Comedy.
