Cellist extraordinaire Daniel Müller-Schott joins forces with the Latvian pianist Robert Kulek for the opening concert of the 2009 Festival in the James Gandon-designed Emo Court. Individually, each of these musicians enjoys a busy performing career working with a roster of such distinguished musicians as Anne-Sophie Mutter,Angela Hewitt, Julia Fischer, Arabella Steinbacher, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Bernard Haitink. As a duo they haveperformed at some of the world’s finest concert halls and festivals, and their recording of French sonatas on theEMI Classics label was nominated for an Edison Award and selected as CD of the Month in both the Strad and BBC Music Magazines. We look forward to welcoming Daniel Müller-Schott to Emo for his Festival début and tohearing Robert Kulek perform following his stunning recital with violinist Arabella Steinbacher in the 2007 Festival.
