The 40th Festival closes in its spiritual home, Castletown House, with a performance by the award-winning Ysaÿe Quartet. Having gained an enviable reputation as one of the leading quartets of its generation, the Quartet’s engagements regularly takes its members to concert halls from London, Rome and Paris to Washington, Tel Aviv and Tokyo, and to festivals such as Stavanger, Edinburgh and Bonn’s Beethovenfest. The Ysaÿe’s plans for 2009/10 include a sextet project with two former members of the Alban Berg Quartett, Valentin Erben and Isabel Charisius, whilst Summer 2010 brings appearances at the Salzburg and Rheingau Festivals.
Supper is available before the concerts at CHC at the West Wing, Castletown House, on Saturday June 12th and Saturday June 19th 2010.
