The Festival welcomes the return of Quatuor Ebène, who are sure to captivate Irish audiences again with their rhapsodic daring and joie de vivre. The Ebènes continue to take the musical world by storm, performing in major concert halls, from Carnegie to the Wigmore, and at festivals including Tanglewood, Verbier and Risør. Exclusive Virgin Classics – EMI artists, the Quartet was awarded Gramophone Magazine’s 2009 “Recording of the Year” for its ‘breath-taking’ recording of string quartets by Ravel, Fauré and Debussy. Its latest offering “Fiction”, featuring a number of distinguished musicians including Natalie Dessay and Stacey Kent has garnered worldwide critical acclaim from press and public alike.
